Since 1966, the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC), working with and for its member districts, has developed a wide array of cost-effective and high-quality programs and services to meet the educational needs of children and adults in Greater Hartford.

Services Offered By CRECWe Offer

Birth to Three

The Birth to Three program operates in the north-central region of Connecticut under the auspices of the state Department of Developmental Services. This program offers home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers who have delays or disabilities and their families.

Dyslexia Services

These sessions will develop and explore key understandings regarding the identification and treatment protocols for servicing students with dyslexia. Presented by CREC Education Specialists, our webinars are available as a series to districts, groups, or individual customers and are beneficial to all educational professionals, administrators, and related service personnel.

Early Childhood Education

A variety of services aimed at improving early childhood education for students in preschool through Grade 3, including facilitation, audits, and best practices.

Instructional Methods for Exceptional Learners

CREC offers a variety of customized workshops to assist districts in developing and refining academic, social, and behavioral inclusion practices for Pre-K through grade 12 and transition classrooms.

Support for Scientific Research-Based Interventions (SRBI) & Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

CREC Resource Group develops and enhances SRBI and MTSS structures through assessment, technical assistance, and professional development, in a single school or district-wide. CREC staff can train your staff in practices to promote the integration of an intervention framework and learning disability guidelines.
