Navigating the complex landscape of federal, state, and local requirements for educating multilingual learners can be challenging. CREC provides expert support and guidance to help districts develop and implement effective policies that ensure compliance while prioritizing student success and educational equity.

Our policy guidance includes:

  • Review of current district policies and procedures related to EL/ML identification and placement, service provision, progress monitoring, and state standardized test administration (LAS Links, SBAC, etc)
  • Development of comprehensive EL/ML program handbooks and guides
  • Creation of clear protocols for identifying, placing, assessing, and monitoring multilingual learners
  • Guidance on meeting federal and state requirements while centering student needs and instructional quality
  • Support for data management and reporting systems
