Social-emotional learning (SEL) is the process of developing self-awareness, self-control, and interpersonal skills that are vital for school, work, and life success. CREC offers a variety of services that can help students all any age level improve ther social-emotional skills.

Services Offered By CRECWe Offer

Mindfulness and Yoga

CREC offers mindfulness professional development for administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, PE teachers, school nurses, physical therapists and more. Workshops can be customized to meet specific district/school needs. Titles include Mindfulness Basics, Educator Self-Care, Social Emotional Learning through Yoga, Mindfulness, and Yoga 4 Classrooms.

Services for Special Learners

These services focus on methods for implementing IEPs through the development of specially designed instruction. Professional development strategies for the communication of IEP procedures to parents or guardians, and a variety of collaborative training options are available to facilitate professional and parent communication.

Student Consultation and Support

This service is for schools or districts that have a situation that requires further review and suggestions from an outside expert. CREC experts can conduct a risk assessment, assess programs and services, and observe the student and/or meet with the student(s), parents, and staff to ensure program success.

Support for Scientific Research-Based Interventions (SRBI) & Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

CREC Resource Group develops and enhances SRBI and MTSS structures through assessment, technical assistance, and professional development, in a single school or district-wide. CREC staff can train your staff in practices to promote the integration of an intervention framework and learning disability guidelines.

Supporting Positive School Climate

Is Your District Challenged with Meeting the Social, Emotional and Behavioral Needs of All Students? During the 2011-2012 school year, 3.45 million students were suspended out of school, students of color and students with disabilities were generally expelled at higher rates than their peers.
