CREC Resource Group partners with districts, schools, and education professionals across Connecticut to deliver professional learning that is practical, equity-forward, and built around your goals. We don't offer programs off a shelf. Every engagement is tailored to the people in the room, the community they serve, and the outcomes that matter most.
Whether we are supporting a district through a year-long coaching partnership, facilitating workshops open to educators across the region, or conducting an independent program evaluation, our team brings 50+ years of CREC expertise — and a genuine commitment to the educators and students we serve.
At CRG, we are always keeping an eye on the current legislative session and staying attuned to the latest initiatives from the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE). But beyond the data and the policy, one of our favorite things to do is simply build relationships with our partners and engage in the work you and your educators do every day.
Our deepest partnerships happen at the district level. CRG works alongside district and school leaders to design and implement sustained, job-embedded professional learning aligned to your strategic priorities. We come as colleagues — committed to lasting impact, not one-time events.
CRG's Education Specialists bring deep expertise across a wide range of content areas and educational priorities, including:
High-Quality, Curriculum-Based Professional Learning
Many of our district partners are actively developing comprehensive systems for professional learning aligned to their strategic goals and a Vision of a Graduate. We work alongside them to build those systems — investing in a clear vision of high-quality professional learning, establishing strategies to evaluate its impact, and strengthening data literacy practices across the organization.
Our professional learning is designed in alignment with Learning Forward's Standards for Professional Learning, with an emphasis on adult learning theory, science of learning, and change management. We believe professional learning must be relevant, problem-centered, and connected to educators' daily work.
CRG's professional learning team is made up of experienced educators and leaders who bring deep content expertise, a strong equity orientation, and genuine care for the partners they serve.
In addition to customized district partnerships, CRG offers a robust calendar of professional learning workshops and learning series open to educators across Connecticut and the region. These sessions are designed to be immediately applicable — bringing strategies and tools educators can put to work the next day.
CREC Resource Group is ready to partner with your district, school, or organization. Whether you're looking for a single workshop, a year-long coaching partnership, or a rigorous program evaluation, our team will work with you to design a solution that fits your context and moves learning forward.
One of our favorite parts of this work is celebrating the educators and leaders we partner with across Connecticut. From large urban districts to smaller rural communities, our partners are doing extraordinary work — and we are honored to support them.
Anne Capobianco, Supervisor of Evaluation and Professional Learning in East Hartford Public Schools — a district of 6,304 students, 15 schools and programs, and 669 certified staff — exemplifies what it looks like to build a coherent, district-wide professional learning system. CRG works alongside districts like East Hartford to align professional learning with strategic goals, strengthen data literacy, and support leaders in designing systems that truly serve all learners.
CREC Early Childhood Education Specialists were invited by NAEYC to present their session 'Bridging Pre-K and Kindergarten: Joyful Play-Based Learning in the Content Areas' at the 2025 NAEYC Annual Conference in Orlando. NAEYC selected this session as one of only ten to be featured in their Virtual Learning Lab, reaching educators nationwide. The session, led by Jean Barresi, Natasha Robinson, Traci Protz, and Sara Castle, focuses on using Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to support inclusive, play-based learning across math, literacy, science, and social studies.
Dina Senecal, Senior Director of Curriculum and Instructional Operations in Somers — a district of 1,347 students, 3 schools and programs, and 160 certified staff — demonstrates that powerful professional learning happens at every scale. CRG supports district leaders in communities of all sizes to build capacity, evaluate programs, and sustain momentum toward improved outcomes for all students.
Dana Corriveau, Managing Director for Professional Learning, and Chrissy Bowman, Education Specialist, joined CREC's magnet school team at the DataWise Leadership Institute to implement the updated DataWise process. The 2025 update places stronger emphasis on equity, habits of mind, and data literacy — with a shift toward evidence-based practice that aligns with expectations for teacher and leader evaluation, sensible assessment systems, and curriculum development. CRG facilitates this process with schools across the region.
