Eligibility and Enrollment

CREC Head Start serves children six weeks to five years old who are:

• Experiencing poverty, according to the Federal Poverty Guidelines
• In foster care
• Experiencing Homelessness, based on the McKinney-Vento definition
• From families receiving public assistance, including TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), SSI (Supplemental Security Income), or SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)

When you are submitting your application, we ask that you attach the following documents:

• Most recent physical and immunizations
• Address verification (a lease or utility bill)
• Most recent IEP/IFSP if your child is receiving Birth to Three or Board of Education services

If you do not have access to these documents at the time of the application, you can email them to CHSinfo@crec.org, making sure to include your child’s name and date of birth so that the enrollment staff can update your application.
